Growing investments on the global stage
Fisher Funds is well known for our success in achieving significant investment returns by building portfolios of high quality, growing companies. Our success in both New Zealand and Australia largely comes down to people – the talented professionals that we have in our investment team and the quality leaders who are guiding the companies we invest in. Investing internationally is no different: we have secured the very best investment talent and are delighted to now be able to offer New Zealand investors an International Growth Fund to complement their New Zealand and Australian portfolios.
The Fisher Funds International Growth Fund gives New Zealand investors access to a hand-picked portfolio of 30 to 40 international growth companies through a single tax efficient investment. The mix of companies in the portfolio is designed to maximize returns while providing greater diversity on an industry, economic and geographic level than if your portfolios were just limited to Australia and New Zealand growth companies. Importantly, the Fund embraces the time tested Fisher Funds investment philosophy of investing in smaller, overlooked companies that are growing their profits and likely to continue to grow over time. We will continue to focus our efforts on getting to know each company better than any other investor by visiting them regularly and strong building relationships with the management teams and boards.

The International Growth Fund is a handpicked portfolio of 30-40 companies located throughout the US, Europe and Asia. While the fund is built on a company by company basis there are some themes that have developed:
Urbanisation in China driven by the emerging middle class - China has grown its GDP by an average of 9% per year for the past 25 years and there is decades of growth ahead. Over the next 15 - 20 years it is estimated 300 million people (that's the entire US population) will move to cities in China. Think about the infrastructure required and the increased wealth and consumption that will develop due to this trend.
Healthcare companies - generally not impacted by the overall economy as healthcare is non-discretionary.
Successful US companies implementing global strategies
Unique businesses and leaders in market niches - small companies that are employing unique strategies to grow their profits and could be the success stories of tomorrow.
